Since July 1 , 65% of pharmacies in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté have been on strike. In Côte-d'Or, many of them are not mincing their words in the face of a "catastrophic" government plan aimed at reducing discounts from laboratories to pharmacies on generic drugs. These discounts are a major contributor to the sometimes fragile economic models of some pharmacies.

More than half of the pharmacies in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté have been on strike since July 1st . They are open during the day for their customers, but it is more difficult to find a pharmacy on call at night. The regional health agency (ARS) has, however, requisitioned those that are on call on Sundays and public holidays. Pharmacists are pointing the finger at a government project that aims to reduce the discounts given by laboratories to pharmacies on the sale of generic drugs. "These are discounts granted by laboratories to keep pharmacies viable," explains Mathieu Lamia, pharmacist at the Perrières pharmacy in Dijon. "By eliminating this, it will lead to layoffs and pharmacy closures. I have been established for a year and a half, I wanted to hire people, but it will not be possible." He specifies that this strike is not aimed at making more money but at maintaining the models...
